General guidance, not a diagnosis of your device. Possible causes below need assessment before a repair decision.
Start with the pattern
Is it slow only when switching on, only in one app, or throughout the day? A long startup followed by normal use is a different story from a computer that freezes under every workload. Note whether the problem began suddenly or developed gradually. That gives an assessment somewhere useful to start.
What might be behind it?
Microsoft identifies limited free space, startup apps, software and hardware limitations as possible contributors to poor performance. Those are investigation areas, not a diagnosis of your device. A high disk-usage reading, for example, does not identify a failed drive on its own.
Does it need an SSD or more RAM?
An upgrade is worth discussing only if it addresses the limitation. We need the exact model, existing hardware and your everyday apps before recommending parts. More capacity, a different drive and more working memory are separate decisions. Buying all three before an assessment can spend money without addressing the original fault.
What TechSav can check
A slow-PC assessment can look at startup behaviour, software, available space and relevant hardware constraints. TechSav can then explain whether optimisation, Windows troubleshooting or a compatible upgrade is a sensible next step. The approved slow-PC health check and optimisation price is £45; extra work or parts must be agreed.
What to send us
Tell us the model, what takes too long and whether it still works normally once started. Mention crashes, warnings or missing files separately. Do not reset it or buy parts to prepare for an enquiry. If important files are not backed up, tell us before any work.
