General guidance, not a diagnosis of your device. Possible causes below need assessment before a repair decision.
Start with the warning, timing and restart behaviour
Was there a temperature warning, an error message or no warning at all? Does it happen immediately, after a while, in one game or across several? Does it restart normally? Report the observations separately instead of deciding it must be overheating.
Heat and noise need context
PlayStation says the PS5 fan can become louder in some games as it increases cooling. It advises keeping the vents unobstructed, avoiding cramped spaces and allowing at least 10 cm around each side. So a busier fan alone is different from recurring warnings or shutdowns.
What an assessment can establish
TechSav can look at the reported pattern, placement and dust condition and discuss an internal clean or overheating assessment. A thermal or power issue is a possibility to assess, not a remote diagnosis. Repeated shutdowns that continue after an agreed clean need a further decision rather than an automatic promise of success.
A real TechSav example
In one documented PS5 job, heavy internal dust was found after the owner reported shutdowns when loading games. The console was cleaned and reassembled, and no repeat shutdown was reported during the post-clean use recorded at that stage. That is one outcome, not proof that every similar fault is caused by dust. Read the linked case for the limits of what was recorded.
Before you book
Current-generation console internal cleaning is £60. Cleaning is not a guaranteed fix. No-power, motherboard, HDMI-port and liquid-damage repairs are outside TechSav’s launch scope. Send the exact model, warning and timing so we can check suitability before agreeing work. Avoid repeatedly forcing a console through shutdowns.
